    Reading Legal Descriptions from Another View

    Charlene Mullis is a Senior Property Acquisition and Title Reviewer specialist with Washington State Department of Transportation. She received her B.S. from Eastern Oregon University. She began her real estate career with a variety of roles in the lending industry, and in the title and escrow industry. After eighteen years, she went to work for the State of Washington, Department of Transportation as a Property Acquisition Specialist. She acquired right of way for state and federally funded transportation projects. After four years, she was promoted into a Supervisory position. After nine years with the State of Washington, Department of Transportation, she decided to relocate to Arizona to be closer to her parents in 2015. She obtained her real estate license in the state of Arizona and accepted employment with Tierra Right of Way Services to be a Right of Way Consultant for the State of Arizona, Department of Transportation. After three years, she was promoted into a Project Management position and Right of Way Tribal Liaison for the State of Arizona. A year later, she decided to relocate back to the Pacific Northwest.

    Charlene has recently been appointed the Chair of the Chapter 4 Professional Development Committee for the remainder of the 2020-2021 FY and will continue on for the 2021-2022 FY. She has earned her RWA designation with IRWA in 2020 and is currently working on obtaining her RWP designation. When she is not working on her career, she enjoys yoga, traveling and hiking the beautiful PNW. She has a 24-year-old son that currently lives in Aurora, Colorado.
