SARS-COV-2 and COVID-19 Statement
Dear IRWA Chapter 4 Membership,
The past two plus weeks have been an odd surrealistic experience; as you all are aware of the continuing challenges and unknowns related to the COVID-19 virus. We are all facing challenges with the closure of school districts throughout the region, struggling to find childcare, facing uncertainties about market fluctuations and generally just feeling a little bit stressed about it all.
We are certainly frustrated with the unknowns moving forward and are taking this day by day, assessing the risk and making decisions about our board and membership meetings. But with these sorts of things, we just need to go with the flow and make decisions that are in the best interest of everyone’s health and safety. As you know at this point, our March membership meeting is cancelled indefinitely. This is unfortunate as we had four candidates for project of the year, an unprecedented showing. But, we are dealing with unprecedented times right now; perhaps we will mix things up a bit and find the time this fall to reschedule this meeting.
That being said, the April membership meeting is currently on standby, and given Governor Jay Inslee’s remarks this week, it is likely this meeting will be cancelled as well. Nevertheless, we will continue to send weekly eblasts to everyone, keeping you all informed about our path forward.
I truly miss everyone; this has been a challenge for me especially as I really enjoy our community. I hope everyone is finding a peaceful space in all the chaos; be healthy and safe and I hope to see everyone sooner than later.

COURSES 102,205, 604, and SR/WA Study Session are POSTPONED - NEW DATES TBD
The Chapter is postponing Course 102 - Evaluating your Ethical Awareness, Course 205 - Bargaining Negotiations, Course 604 - Environmental Due Diligence and Liability, and the SR/WA Study Session and Comprehensive Exam. Those registered will receive information from the Course Coordinator.

President's Message
Hello IRWA Chapter 4 members! Well, here we are well into 2020; not sure what happened to January, and February will be gone before we know it, ushering in daylight savings, daffodils and rain until the end of June-uary.

20/20 Vision Scholarship Program
Funded by the Right of Way International Education Foundation (RWIEF)
Thanks to the success of the 40 for 40 Program, the RWIEF is pleased to announce a new scholarship: The 20/20 Vision Scholarship Program! This scholarship is targeted to new professionals in the infrastructure real estate industry seeking to advance their careers through IRWA credentialing.
Important Information:
Applicants must be an IRWA member in good standing for at least one year and committed to achieving the RWA and/or the RWP credential. Previous 40 for 40 Scholarship winners are not eligible. Funding can only be used towards eligible course registration fees, and courses must be completed by June 30, 2023. Once courses are complete, recipients must fill out a completion application and submit it to the IRWA Credentialing Manager, Francis Vicente, at [email protected] along with the $50 processing fee.
Timeline:
Applications may be submitted to the IRWA website beginning January 15, 2020. The deadline for the application is May 1, 2020. Grantees will be notified by June 1, 2020 and the award will begin on July 1, 2020.I have attached a copy of the application form for reference, but note that members will need to fill out the form on the website (available January 15th) so that it can be submitted to Headquarters.
